I can get eggs from the chicken or buy them by walking 10 minutes. 5 minutes drive one way is convenience, 15 minutes the other way is solitude amongst broad leaf forest, where I hunt deer every fall. I have hung and butchered does in my backyard many times and my neighbors have never said a word about it.
My 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath two story house with full basement, attic, garage and small stream in the backyard costs $42,000 in 2004, its worth ~$60,000 now but I'm not inclined to sell it, since the money print is making the dollars worth less every single day.
I have been to a "big city" maybe 5 times in my life and If I never set foot in one ever again I'd be perfectly happy with that. The supposed benefits of living in a city are nothing compared to having an easy and casual connection to real nature. Cities are Hives, home to Bugmen, humans live amongst trees, meadows hills and mountains.
