hey /out/ I am currently working on building a grab and go /out/pack. as I recently picked up a Milsurp Molle pack

here is a basic list I typed up.
any thoughts of what I should add/remove?

I intentionally left out some obvious things like a respirator, water filters and a GPS because I already have them.
I should also note that I do not own a gun.

I'd recommend you check out the weapons board /k/
They often have threads on load-outs like this
This list is clearly more for post-issue bartering than it is for a hiking trip

I have different bags for different purposes.

tailor each bag to a unique job OR be ready to add remove items ...

instead of duplicate items modularity everything, food bag, fire bag, shelter bag, signals bag, etc. then take what applies.

good list though, some good thought went into this.

anon keep in mind that you need to have space to carry and organize all these things. consider how many pockets you have and if you can compartmentalize things. if your purpose is to create a "go-bag" for emergencies then that list works well, but for simple recreational going /out/ then you dont really need items like candles. remember you'll have to carry all these things with you.
personally i keep a much larger go-bag and a seperate /out/ing bag

That's like two packs worth of stuff. I can tell you've never gone camping.
If you're planning on leaving wherever for good, maybe use a backpack AND a duffel bag. Essentials in the backpack, and the less essential stuff in the duffel.
Also, if it's a gran and go bag, it should be staying in a specific place for when you need it. Meaning you're not packing it when you need to "go". That means you're going to have duplicates of stuff, stuff you use at home/for camping, then everything you keep in the bag and never take out.
A big mistake everyone makes is doing shit like
>oh I have a flashlight that I use in my home, I'll just bring that with me and put it in the bug out bag when SHTF, but that's wrong, you should have everything you need in the bags so you can just leave with no hesitation.

You bring 'several hundred feet of paracord' or 'electrical engineer pocket reference' books, what about 'solder kits' and 'bolt cutters' ?
This is a /k/ommando post, for outer city but still near infastructure location. Not a actual campsite post.
I appreciate there is overlap between the two boards, but this clearly favoring one

Get stuff that can be recharged by hand or at least solar power. And cut down on it. Unless it’s about survival in a hot and dry place without sand that stuff won’t last for a very long time anyway.
Most of that stuff isn’t very important. Maybe if you are talking about a vehicle based survival kit. Which climate? There is no way you could carry this stuff.
