I found a nice comfy old logging railroad in PA that had since been turned into a singletrack trail a few weeks ago - I wore pants but like thin athletic pants and they were not enough and my ankles got bit up and I turned back after 5 min of walking

didn't hurt the whole day and it only felt bad for like 30 min but I'd imagine if I'd stayed in it longer that might not be the case

on the plus side those fuckers will die off soon and not be back until late april probably

No, it was a hiking only trail. I could have gone back to the car and changed into the thiccer pants I brought but I had already hiked a lot the day before so I just called it a day.

My grandma would collect them by stones, dry, and brew into tea. Supposed to be quite good for keeping one’s urinary tract healthy. Makes for quite a nice brew too but fills the bladder a tad too quick.
I’ve got a can-full, collected and dried this summer.

It shouldn't last a whole day, it's usually around 10 minutes for me and tea made from the leaves is very tasty and nutritious. We grow it in our yard on purpose because of that. The stingers are actually really good for arthritis as well. Even if it is a little creepy to be purposefully shoving glass needles filled with acids and histamines into your hands.

Yeah, it reduces the inflammation which is the main problem of artritis. My mother in law does it once or twice a month and swears by it. She takes a big bundle and whacks at her hands and knees with them. Says it stings like crazy for an hour or two but then it's several weeks of far better joints, movement and pain.
