If on the other hand you're a rich fuck keeping cougars as pets that's a different situation. It's never going to be a wild cougar and be part of nature, it's just a glorified house cat. So if one of those gets away from it's dipshit owner and attacks your dog then you're free to kill it because it's a feral pet not an endangered wild animal.
