>>2232603If you're in swampland, you may want to forego waterproofing. WP, while great if you can keep it from soaking, takes much, much longer to dry out once wet. If you are set on WP, I would recommend the highest cut feasible to keep water from pouring in from the top. I've thoroughly enjoyed my recent switch to Salomon Quest 04s. Only have ~100 miles on them so don't ask about longevity, but initial impressions are extremely positive. I wore goretex/WP Merrell MOAB mid-cuts for many, many years previous. They have screwed up some stuff on the latest generation of that boot though and between their waterproofing sucking now and a couple maintenance items, I had to finally make a switch. Still a decent boot though.
