Anyone have experience with Helko Werk axes? I want to get myself a quality axe that I can pass down and these have caught my eye. Also general axe thread I guess.

Ive mostly been looking at axes with plastic handles, as I feel wood will need to be replaced too frequently. The fiskars axes look very promising, and theyre cheap too

I have a few axes. My all around favorite is the council tools boys axe 28" handle, 2.25lb head.
I have downed quite a few trees with that axe. Even processed a few cords of wood.

I recently picked up a snow and nealley 30" handle 3.5lb head
I haven't used the snow yet but the craftsmanship is very good. I bought it because I wanted a heavier axe for felling trees.

If you want to go straight to based, buy an old axe head off ebay, restore it and mount it on a new handle

lmao what are you some meme man? just use a chainsaw. I have an ultra light cordless mini chainsaw. aside from chargeable i also have solar features on it. anytime i go /out/ its with me.

too frequently? what are you doing with your axe?!
you should treat axes or knives like you would a gun, rub dirt off with an oiled cloth, retreat exposed material, use the tool properly (don't twist you axe head out of wood)
plastic should be fine, unsure about temperature fluctuations and brittleness though I'd look into that as cold plastic can shatter, but a good wooden handle should last a life time
