Anyone who goes /out/ is a valid person to me, regardless of how mentally ill they are. If they go on outings and- more importantly- respect the outdoors and people out there, they're all good in my book. I'd rather have weebs buying expensive yurucamp gear and doing the research before camping or /k/ommandos larping survivalist situations in a state park than alltrails shitheads.
If you have the ambition to go out, the knowledge to do the right thing, and the proper respect for locals, the environment and other outdoorsmen- you've earned your place.

I go out, but nothing extreme. I do light hiking and car camping with the girlfriend. And every few years I quit my job and spend a few months hitchhiking the US. That involves stealth camping in both urban and rural areas, but I never go deep into nature.
