Is that really efficient? It doesn't show the setup time for the chain, seems to me like you could go through with a chainsaw cutting them down pretty damn fast.

That looks like a tree farm: They grow the trees themselves before felling them. Why is this a bad thing? Much more sustainable and less destructive than clearing 100's of acres of an established forest.

Man I do hiking trail maintenance in NSW for work & have spent all this week on the saw felling trees. Our trees aren't anything special & you're just wrong.

when they cut down really large trees that are centuries old on the bc coast that bums me out. but in the boreal forests of the prairie provinces the trees never get very big or old, and fire is a normal part of the forest. in these areas i don't care if they grow wood like a crop. woods a great resource.
