You need better specs than that to browse 4chan and write emails in the woods? Try a panasonic tough book or similar rugged laptop.

THE BEST camping laptop.

Usually bought in bulk by corporate and government organisations for work in harsh regions. If you just wanted one it would probably run you around $3,000.

Tablets probably. Laptops are heavy and don't have 3g connectivity without a usb accessory. They typically have a better battery life too and they're easier to keep safe and dry.
