I like to take spam, rice and hard cheese for meals, snacks are nuts, trail mix, sesame seed crackers or whatever they're called and chocolate protein bars. Anything you find is a bonus, for example giant puff balls are easy to identify, taste great and are decently filling, nearly everything that isn't nightshade can be made into a tea, nettles are a superfood stinging are better than dead but you need gloves and a fire to process them.
