probably some of the best shells on the market. Everything else can be substituted for something far cheaper for the same effect i.e. synthetic baselayers, down jackets, shoes, climbing gear. Gore-tex Infinium is just a marketing term, providing only vague technicality. Can't say much about the new lines with gore-tex pro, from what I hear maybe its overkill to pay 200+ more. Your best bet is to buy second hand and treat and wash it with a new coat of DWR. Or if you do wanna buy new, go to a store in person and usually they will have a clearance section with past collections with some things going for 300$ off original pricing.
