1. my dao, heavy like khukuri but better suited to woodwork and digging
2. a large wool blanket
3. a cast iron pot
4. ferro rod- though I expect I'd keep hot coals burning- this is a significantly under-valued skill.
5. swiss army knife- really just for surgical use.
6. antibiotics.
7.my hiking pack
8. another wool blanket
7. a German army style tent with straight poles
9. stainless steel canteen
10. fishing wire and hooks.
The main criterion here is that all these items are fairly indestructible, as mishap could get you killed.
Wool blankets for instance don't tent to tear, can't really be punctured, can be darned and are fire-proof.
The Germany army tent has straight poles, so these can be replaced- it is heavy, more suited to camping than hiking.
Cast iron pots are indestructible, and your canteen is a backup- it can also be used to make activated charcoal by protecting woods
Antibiotics are life saving and I can't manufacture them- topical antiseptic is far easier to manufacture (salt, acid, specific plants)
People are too paranoid about filtering water, if you collect it sensibly, boil it and charcoal filter it you're fine.
the best way to make a charcoal filter is to use a clay/earth tube full of ground charcoal, then build a earth dish on top to hold water.
this might be two feet by two feet wide, it doesn't matter- the more water the more pressure and the faster the filtering.
finding food is the real challenge, you're probably going to be waist deep in a river EVERY DAY trying to catch anything moving.
within a few weeks you would need to transition to wild sowing edible roots of some kind, seasonal grains and berries.
Having caught a few fish you could use the refuse to trap scavenger animals, and birds can be very easy to catch even in numbers- it's very hard to exhaust wild bird stocks because they tent to migrate- water birds are probably the easiest because they are hardly agile, throwing stones is a legitimate way to hunt water fowl
