I am worried that shit will hit the fan very soon.

What books will I need for a hunter-gatherer lifestyle? My survival method would be of a roaming one with temporary seasonal dwellings. Basically any fundemental survival guides and tips?

What should I be packing before everything gets fucked up?

You don't need books you need experience. An overnight camping trip will teach you more than a stack of books. It's not that books are bad, you can get some very good information from them, but that information will be useless if you never put it to practice.

This. If you're well read it'll help you survive, but only if you apply what you learn, and pick up on the nuances that don't get mentioned in books. For example, it's helpful to know how to identify edible mushroom species from their poisonous look-alikes, but if you don't know what type of habitats are available in your area, or what native companion plants they grow with, you're gonna have a harder time. Get out and learn your area, then you can study.

In any case, foraging and hunting isn't a sustainable SHTF plan. Your best bet in that scenario is being off-grid somewhere with guns, and lots of land for your animals to graze, or your crops to grow on. Natural resources, especially meat and fish, will be the first to run out when SHTF and urban normies start venturing into the woods for the first time.

I can see a book refining a process but it isn't efficient. Get some firsthand experience. Take a course. All that bushcraft bullshit means nothing without practice.

But you'll get no argument from me that experience is fucking important and you'll learn plenty from it.
E.g.: Actually lighting a campfire can be way easier or way harder than theory.
