Would it ever be practical to take a chicken on extended trips? I really love eggs, and if I could get one a day it may worth carrying a mobile factory that only weighs a few lbs and eats your leeches and scraps and bugs and seeds and shit. Plus if you bring a net you can catch butterflies and tiny fish for them.
