I'm sympathetic but that thing is never going to climb something greater than 40 degrees, over rock or creeks. It's extremely limited even in the most Accessible of trails

I know this is a joke, and I'm not opposed to working on parts of popular walking trails, it's been happening for a long time but anything to the extent you can get real use out of that motorised wheelchair if just kidding to themselves. Sucks because if I was in that position, I'd never wanna go back to the trails, it's be too depressing

City trails already serve handicapped people. Many state parks have paved trails. Irrelevant thread. There should be, and are, places for the handicapped to enjoy nature. Just as we have provisions for mountain bikers and ATVers, without every trail catering to them.

Sounds kinda based if it is a paid position.
Be outdoors, lifting and getting paid, all in one.

It is an /out/ career anon. Look up 'adaptive sports'. All large ski resorts have people that do it, and there are numerous smaller organizations/providers.

As far as "inclusivity" goes, /out/ing is the last thing any progressive will care about. Most of them are too busy huffing car exhaust to care what happens beyond city limits. Also, any suit can sign a bill forcing universities and beauty pageants to lower their standards, but you're gonna need billions of dollars in man hours and equipment to pave roads onto every single trail in America. Good luck getting enough people together to give a shit and stick with it
Just give them "off-roading" wheelchairs and keep them in the regular trails for old people. Accessibility in the outdoors is just a pipe dream

Obviously jumping straight to paving everything would be dumb.
The logical next step would be to simply use a skid loader, move some dirt to widen and smooth out trails that off-road wheel chairs cannot handle, and make them more accessible that way.
