What do you do when you pick a mushroom?
just rip it out of the ground, or cut it as low as you can? maybe cover the spot with moss afterwards?
so tell me /out/ which is the correct way.

doesn't really matter weigh way imo. by cutting it and leaving the butt, the butt just rots and dies anyway, at least with the species I've observed. some argue you leave more mycelium by cutting but I don't think they realize that the remainder of the stipe just dies anyway. generally i pull and twist, then cut the dirty part off and put it in whatever contain I brought.
