Seems like half of the threads in the catalog are made by misfits daydreaming about escapingtheir current living situations; whether they are underaged kiddies wanting to run away from being bullied at school, or urbanite paranoid schizophrenics.

I need some sort of goal to enjoy being /out/, honestly. Climbing a mountain for a lookout or going birding. Just being outside isn't all that enjoyable to be, especially by myself.

Yes I just spent 3 weeks in December camping in my 30 year old car with my dog in CA and NV. Slept only on old logging roads and mountain roads. Went hiking for at least 2 hours everyday. I quit my job just so I could camp more, after Christmas I am going to Oregon and Washington and Idaho for at least a month.

I have a truck drivers license so when I work I make around $1,400 a week. I only work if I'm starving. When I do break down and get a job I save 80% of every single dollar I make and quit within 4-6 months max. I only drive 20+ year old vehicles and when I'm travelling I don't let myself use more than one tank per month. I eat very frugally so I don't have to waste any excess money, mostly eggs and fats as I generally dislike carbs. I try and fast at least 16 hours every day minimum to cut down on food costs as well and I cook all my own food everyday. I do not have any friends and the only hobby I have is being outside and sometimes playing games on my laptop or switch. Also when I'm travelling I hit up food banks, I let my beard grow out and stop brushing my hair and don't do laundry so I look very homeless and I guess I technically am.

Right now I can't work as I would fail a drug test, so I'm waiting till April or May to get another job and living with my parents while I continue to travel for a month or so at a time so I can save even more money as they feed me. I have never had a relationship and am probably the most isolated person you have ever talked to. Yet I wouldn't change even a second of how I live my life as I don't have to constantly suffer a meaningless job that demands the only thing I will ever own, my time. My time is worth more to me than the Universe itself.

I do admit that I don't enjoy being outdoors that much when it's permanently cold and gloomy-cloudy without the sun to see at the sky, below 5-0°C/50-40°F. Obviously it's worse with windchill.
For years I've been telling myself, that it's only because of me being unable to hunt due to the heavy local hunting restrictions and the lack of wilderness in Central Europe and that I absolutely would go outdoors everyday if I were in Canada or Norway.
A couple of weeks ago I have started to wonder, whether that is actually true and if I would really spend more time outside when it's cold and dark outside.
It's easier with friends, were one can motivate each other to go out, but it doesn't make the winter itself enjoyable.
I've already been to much warmer countries in SEA and to NZ, where I enjoyed the wheather and climate much more, the heat from the sun, with few problems considering my fair skin type.
Pic related but it has a few faults.

This. I go /out/ for both reasons: because I enjoy it and because I want to get away from all the bullshit I have to deal with in everyday society. Picrel from yesterday where I had dozens of waterfalls like this one all to myself. The beauty of going /out/ on weekdays.

Hey anon, I also phonepost and use an app (android) called Litphoto that lets you compress a bunch of pictures at once into 2MB (or whatever) versions of themselves. It is pretty slick.
