>>2272722I don’t know about the laws but I will tell you how my grandpa showed me.
Get a spin cast reel, they’re easier for beginners.
Get a basic tackle set (weights, bobbers and hooks).
Get a box of worms.
Set your rod up and just practice on your cast for a little while, playing with the weights to get a good feel.
Once you have a good cast going go ahead and put work on your hook, cast your line and wait.
Once your bobber starts to bob a little bit, heighten your attention.
When you see the bobber dip then you need to set the hook, give your rod a good tug as if you were preparing to cast again.
If you feel the hook fighting you that means you got the fish.
Start reeling it in and if he’s fighting you good just give the rod a tug every little while as you’re reeling.
When you get the fish out of the water make sure you get a strong grip on him because he will fight for his life.
Just keep things as simple as possible when you’re first starting out, work on your cast and setting of the hook most of all; you can focus on the other accessories and what not once you have the basics down.
