What do you keep in yours /out/ first aid kit? Obviously some gause, tape and antiseptics, bandages, band-aids and painkillers maybe, but anything fancy that could be usefull?

Triple-antibiotic and bandages is basic.
Gauze and tape for it, is a step above but not a replacement. You don't want to waste it on small nicks.
Get a triangular bandage and a split ffor moderate injuries, and some more one-handed sorts of bandages like 'israeli bandage' which is basically just gauze and elastic together. Tweezers for weird stuff that finds its way into your hands and feet. Any while not really medical, if I have room, I put a foil blanket folded up in my kit. Especially for winter stuff, if you have to wait for help, you want to have something retaining heat better
Always let someone know where you are heading and when you should be back by- and if not back/letting them know then they should contact search and rescue. Mitigate the need for that, but if necessary, it's good that they have a rough idea where to search

Thanks, didn't think about the foil blankets. Where can I get those? Also will elastic bandages (or whatever they're called) will get me covered for mending twisted ankles/wrists before I get help?

ace bandages suck for stabilizing ankles, better to get some physio tape and learn how to wrap them. also some naproxen and acetaminophen to manage pain and swelling

most off the shelf kits are okay for an untrained person treating basic booboos. make sure to have a lot of useful non medicine supplies in there, it's easy to overlook things like shears, safety pins, forceps etc. The best thing you can invest in tho is training, at least a WFA. Knowing how to assess and stabilize severe injuries will give you a starting point to figure out what you value in your kit+make you and your buddies much safer.

oh and a tourniquet/bleeding kit. people act like theyre only for military larpers but it's pretty easy to rip open an artery if you fall and break a bone.

I have a little bit of everything in my first aid kit. A bit old photo, but it still is more or less the same as what can be seen in the picture: Bandages for both blisters and small ouchies, allergy medications, painkillers, viper bite medication, wound cleansing fluid (nowadays I just carry wound swabs for that), space blankets, tic remover and a lighter, scissors, 4-in1 first aid bandage, gauze and medical tape and single use gloves.

I use the lighter for sterilising the tic remover and killing those tics that I have removed from my body. Also, that can be used for sterilising a bobby pin that I have in there. also, on my body I do carry a tourniquet, it is in my right hand cargo pocket always when I am /out/.

I am a bit of a /k/ommando, but I would recommend one of the basic kits from North American Rescue (they make legit EMT stuff and sell to civilians, many of the tourniquets you find on Amazon are fake) when they go on sale. They usually have a big Valentine's Day sale, as well as in March or May for first responders month (I think it’s one of those months). I would advise throwing in a few additional things like neosporin, bandages and a foil blanket, etc. but those kits are really good for stopping bleeding. They have the blankets for like $2 a pop.
Honestly the tourniquet + hemostatic gauze is probably overkill for anything /out/ would encounter, unless your partner falls down a crevasse or you’re attacked by a bear or something. I would also highly recommend taking a wilderness med course

Tourniquets on Amazon aren't fake, but you can buy cheaper ones from knockoff sites like CPR Savers and whatever the AED superstore is called these days.

Your outdoors first aid kit should have basic "stop the bleed" stuff and then splints. Don't even bother splinting your finger. I mean the 36" arm/leg splints. Maybe a cold compress and Tylenol if you're going on a multi day hike.

A tourniquet and some wound packing gauze can offer some peace of mind - They're a part of my kit. Just practice with the TQ first because they can be tricky to figure out, especially if you/your hiking buddy are in shock

I mean this post with no disrespect, but I think you misunderstood my comment, and you are also wrong about the Amazon tourniquets being safe and effective.
EMTs are civilians, but the company they work for typically supplies the equipment. Many medical supply companies won’t sell direct to civilians (maybe I should have said private citizens instead), for example if you tried to buy a bunch of N-95 masks from a legit medical supply company, they will not let you. North American Rescue sells legit medical supplies without needing to be an EMT or medical provider. They’re I’ll not sell you certain equipment they deem to be unsafe such as a chest decompression needle, unless you can prove you are a certified EMT/doctor etc. I’ve never gone through that process so I don’t know how it works.
Also, you are wrong about the tourniquets on Amazon and they will get you killed. They are cheap Chinese knockoffs.
Read this regarding different tourniquets level of effectiveness:

Practicing with a tourniquet with a windlass like that makes the tourniquet technically not recommended to be used anymore, FYI. A lot of places have blue training tourniquets for this purpose. I also strongly recommend you get a legit CAT 7 tourniquet and not an Amazon knockoff. They are around $25-30 usually

Well I have used those while at work (Back when I was working as a bouncer) and they saw very frequent use even though I don't smoke myself. And I haven't noticed any real issues with that lighter. It is just a lighter amongst other lighters. It's not like I don't have extras, that is just a lighter that I threw in there after my trip to abroad. I originally had a bic in there, but I took it away from there because on airplanes you need to keep the lighters etc on your body. Then as a replacement I put any lighter that happened to have laying around. I didn't even buy that one to be honest. :D
In real medical emergencies it still wouldn't matter THAT much whether I had that lighter in there or not. Since I could just use my tinderkits or EDC tins lighter. But, I will check up on that lighter now, thanks for the heads up.

Comedome tweezers (for extra fine thorns and filaments)
Nail clippers
3 Nexcare Max Hold bandages of different sizes
Elastic bandage wrap
5 alum sticks
Antiseptic gel

I live in Phoenix so by far the most common "injury" while hiking is getting stuck by some kind of thorn, because everything is covered in spikes in the desert. The absolute worst is certain species of small cactus that have fiberglass-like thorns that are also toxic, so you have these near-invisible and quite painful slivers in your hand that are extremely hard to get out. Normal tweezers don't cut it, hence the comedome tweezers. Other than that, cuts and scrapes are fairly common from overgrown spike bushes on trails, and occasionally someone might roll their ankle because the ground is usually hard dirt and stones.
