>>2277758Allow me to explain your picture to you.
1. Only so many permits to climb the mountain are issued each year
2. All the people who climb the mountain do so in about a 2 month period - because of the weather. Weather is a big deal and there are a whole bunch of meteorologists who have made their careers predicting what each seasons weather window will be.
The season your pic was taken, meteorologists worked out that the weather window was not two months but two days - hence everyone on the mountain had 48 hours to summit or had to leave. Those people you see are the ones who were already up the mountain, everyone at basecamp had to go home because you can't make it up that fast.
That picture wasn't taken and spread to inform people, it was taken and spread as clickbait to make lesser people feel better about themseleves by diminishing the accomplishments of others.

Then, just to get onto the mountain you have to cross the Khumbu Icefall, which is not only studily dangerous but also fucking terrifying because you have to cross ridiculous caverns via ladders that have been haphazardly tied together, it often also includes very technical elements. It takes serious mental fortitude and is the first big filter for climbers. Oh, and if the weather is wrong (hot) you have to do it in the dark.
Here is your (you) now take your bait elsewhere sir.
