i didn't participate in the discussion on hatchets but there are a few reasons why i would tell you don't bother
first of all if you pack properly (esp if you stick to a trail) you have little to no reason to need a hatchet, it's going to be extra weight

you shitbirds want to go out into nature and destroy it for 'muh survival' when you could expend far less effort bringing the proper gear and leaving no trace
as for muh whool blanket and bedrolls, they're not optimal at all but they can work, it's just the last week there have been some clowns making unrealistic depictions and claims about muh whool blanket so they've been called out
outside of larping and very specific very unlikely scenarios there is no advantage or reason to carry a hatchet or bedroll or any other rustic gear
