>>2281887>How much you spending to refill?I'm not him, but I also refill. But I don't use the most basic method, like he does. (his refill adapter will cost you maybe 3€ on ebay or aliexpress)
My fill adapter (with a turn valve) + the adapter for the tall canister were maybe 6€ or so (again, ebay or aliexpress).
To give you an example of savings, I can get butane/propane mix 450gr canisters at the hardware store for ~5€ (so, 1.1 cent per gram). The tall butane canister (227 grams) is ~2.10€ (0.93 euro cents per gram).
A small 100gr canister is 4€ in outdoor stores (4 cents per gram) and 230gr canisters are 5€ (2.2 cents per gram) and the big 450 gram guys are 8-9€.
Each refill of the 100gr one and I save 3€ using the big canister, each refill costs me 1.10€, slightly less as I'm not confident enough to fill the up all the way.
Each 450gr canister will fill a 100gr canister about 5 times (as I said, I usually put only around 90-95 grams in them)
The savings would be smaller for the 230gr canister, but still well worth it.
It's a fucking no brainer especially if you can find other non-hiking targeted butane canisters for cheap. (and if you're careful so you don't end up blowing yourself up or something...)
Refilling a canister, even just a handful of times is a good money saving. Also reduces material waste.
