disease aside, mechanical injury is almost certainly the biggest risk if you're out in the boonies. it really doesn't take much to find yourself in a very bad situation.
think of it like this, when you burn yourself on your tendies, you can have your mom put a bandage on it, and you're fine. but pretend you're on your own (i know, big stretch!), what do you do if you break your arm and it's a 30+ minute drive to the nearest ER?
