>>228087OP just some thoughts for you friend
One: established camp grounds arent dangerous unless your stupid. Dont be loud, get drunk, leave your BMW lights on, and harass everyone else. i've solo camped in more pay-to-camp grounds than I can count, and ive never been robed or stabbed. In fact ive met some cool people doing it
Before my PhD i did alo of urbex type shit. I've slept in tunnels, maintenance rooms, factories, roofs (roofs are the fucking best), a couple abandoned ships (my favorite trips) and once I not so gracefully slept in a closet (thats a story for some drunk late night) If your into that shit, be smart, but I wouldnt rely on enough safe abandonments to do a proper multi night trip
dont be afraid of homeless people or strangers. Offer them a cigarette, ask if they are local. Keep your witts about you, know when to leave, dont be aggressive or overly suspicious.
basically this anon
>>228124 has wise advice for stealth woods camping, but i even thing thats a bit more hard core than you need to be. Just use your tent (i like a nice hennessy hammock), set up at dusk, get up at dawn. Your all set.
actually ive had fires, slept under the stars, ive never really had a problem. I only see two possible problems if you arent a drunk stupid ass pretty much
1. property owners or the police notice and arent happy. If you keep your stay brief and put a little effort into staying out of sight this should be fine
2. The .00000000000000001% chance some psychopath is stalking your woods and eats your skin or something. Doesnt matter if your passed out under a bridge or sleeping in a perfectly camouflaged tent that looks feels and smells like a fallen log. If this happens it fucking happens. But to be really honest man, your far more likely to be crushed by a tree felled by a freak microburst. Or drown due to a burst dam. In fact i suspect odds are far better you die by car tomorrow than you ever being hurt by other people while camping
