I'm a medical equipment tech but I'm bored of my career I have the GI bill for a free second degree so should I do Geology, Biology, or Forestry? I'm leaning towards rocks atm.

I’m on the gi bill doing geology and it’s alright. Pretty math heavy and then you do 0 math. Worked at a golf mine last summer as an intern and that was sick. Trying to go to Alaska this summer for another internship/real job.

Biology is probably the best there, find an area you're passionate about and get into research, if you do ecology/field biology you can even get them to pay for research trips into the regions you study

I work as a geologist at a consulting firm. Bulk up on hydrogeology and aquifer stuff, drinking water source development gets you out in the woods constantly. This site here was next to a beautiful river, the road cut was leaking teaberry plants so those are now fermentating in a cupboard

I'm thinking about switching majors from atmospheric to environmental science (Math is kicking my ass). Would this get me in the door for those type of jobs too?

The issue I have with environmental stuff is that most of the money is in remediation, so you frequently end up in industrial sites etc. Water well stuff you're looking for clean and no contamination so you get out in the sticks. Geology is going into a major personnel crunch, you can kind of decide whatever you want to specialize in (though imho mineral exploration and petroleum stuff isn't worth it)
