Can somebody recommend me a pen light? I had a Fenix LD01 that served me well for a long time but I recently lost it. I would like something that takes two triple As and has a button to turn on. Thanks

streamlights are pretty hard to fuck up.
Maratac makes a line of lights that have been pretty good in my experience. I personally go for the AA models for 2 cells, and the AAA for single cells, but whatever floats your boat.

don’t fall for the usb streamlight meme, think a macrostream is like 50 bucks and this combo does the same thing, I say this as someone who runs streamlights as WMLS

The Streamlight Stylus Pro is a great light, but my preference is the Microstream. Both have a momentary/on tailcap switch with no bullshit brightness or strobe modes, and run off AAAs. The Microstream is slightly smaller than a typical folding picketknife, so it's very comfortable to carry. It also has a better clip that allows you to put it on a baseball cap as an improvised headlamp.

No one uses a 1.3 seconds @ 9001 lumen before derate light for anything other than shining at trees in their backyard or neighborhood park. People that go out use <150 lumen headlamps and penlights. Fucking mallninja.

Pen lights are straight out of the mechanic shop, but I've stuck mine in my truck door or pants pockets while camping, and gotten good use out of it. It's a handy little thing to have immediately available.
