How long should a dead rat be left untouched by wildlife. Before you should be concerned something is up? I'm finding a lot of dead rats, untouched. Rotting from the internal bacteria. Here and there. Plenty of predatory, and scavenger creatures around me. They don't eat them though.
I need people who are around wildlife to let me know. How long should a corpse go untouched. These rats are rotting from internal bacteria, and I'd say before anything comes to eat them. Nothing has eaten this one rat specifically, in over 2 weeks. No maggots either. No worms, nothing.
Wildlife is not touching this rat.
The local rat colony has gone quiet.
