This thread is about skeletonized tangs being sold as simply "full tang", whether it is ethical, and whether those skeletonized "full tangs" are actually stronger than an old fashioned stick tang that all the full tang people always shit on.

If you want an example of a real low quality 'tang' here is what they call a rat-tail that was pin-welded.

This is a skellingtonised blade. I dont see the point to them over full tang, but it's better than alternatives

You can make tangs that aren't full and are strong, durable, lighter, and better balanced.
However you can't really make a full tang that isn't strong and durable (relative to the rest of the knife)
