I was serious, I go with all my layers, if it gets hot I shed a skin and move on, take a note, then I decide how bad the road was, so basically I am always on the brink of disaster, at least on my first go, but I take notes the whole time.
Then a week later I return with gear thats suited for that trail and literally never bring even a gram more than needed.
That's beyond ultra light, I've had expeditions where I literally dont bring a backpack.
