>>2295374One thing I will say about him that I think a lot of people (who didn't experience it) wouldn't understand: he went to high school in NoVA. Specifically William Tucker Woodson High School. Even today, even when I was a high schooler in Fairfax county public schools, Woodson was famous for students killing themselves.
NoVA is a hellscape of vapid materialism, and competition purely for competition's sake. Kids are expected to do full AP, IB, play a varsity sport, volunteer, be in a club, and get into either an Ivy League or an ""Ivy League"" (william and mary, UVA, etc.), or maybe an academy.
There's no fulfillment there, there's no adventure, there's no creative outlet, there's no emotion or culture. If you stop long enough to even think of any of this, you'll fall apart, the only way to make it is to just run at 100% and not think of anything else.
Say what you will about this stupid shit he did, or how he died, but I completely understand and empathize with the upbringing that led him to do what he did.
