My room gets really cold during the winter. I don't like using my heater because it dries the shit out of my skin and my nostrils, usually leading to a nose bleed when I wake up.

Sleeping bag + duvet = comfy sleeps.

i sleep in one of these babies every night. its an old style military intermediate cold sleeping bag. this is hands down the most comfortable sleeping bag ever made. i usually sleep with the heat off and a window open and lately its been getting below freezing in here, but you don't even notice in this thing. too bad its too heavy and bulky to actually take out with me. for the quality of sleep i get it might still be worth it. beats the crap out of the newer MSS bags in insulation performance, but RIP if it gets wet.

You know, you could literally just set up a tent either on the backyard or the roof of your apartment building. This way you could have both worlds at the same time - the convenience of indoor camping with real-life exposure to the great outdoors.
At least that's what I used to do when I was a kid and way too young to be let to go alone to camp in the nearby forests.
