The six ribs along the shaft (heh) are almost certainly for hose clamps, meaning pretty high pressure.
The trumpet end doesn’t have holes around the outside for mounting with a seal, so we can infer that it’s a low pressure (ruling out hydraulics or transfer lines like pic rel)

So low pressure on one end, high on the other. One hole for mounting to the flanged side. It could be a barb for attaching a strainer the intake of a trash pump, though The middle of the woods seems an odd place. Any lakes, forest fires or gold mining near there op?

how far out is it? how many miles from a village or town? or road?
looks like a cast uron bollard but it seems to be missing both the bottom mounting thing and a top, which suggests it is something more like a pipe, or maybe the bottom of a lamp post?
