MRE’s aren’t bad if you’re only out for a single night. It’s true that their calorie per ounce ratio isn’t very good, but it’s made up for by not requiring a stove (almost, lol).
Some more in-depth options:
>store boughtMountain House, Backpackers Pantry, and probably a dozen others. They’re a little expensive, but convenient.
>dehydrate your ownThis is a topic all its own. There are books and websites dedicated to it. The sky’s the limit with your options, but it takes a little know how, a dehydrator, and some experimenting.
>store bought and DIYLike the post I linked to earlier, there are store bought options. You just put them together for a complete meal. Spam w/ Ramen is popular. Instant potatoes with cheese and sausage is as well.
My go-to tops three:
>Skurkas Beans and RiceGoogle if. It’s dehydrated refried beans, instant rice, cheese, taco seasoning, and Fritos.
>instant rice w/ sausageInstant rice, powdered tomato, Italian seasoning, bullion cube, and sausage. Very simple.
>Bear Creek cheese soup w/ TunaWeird combination but I works
