Hey /out/. I am an eagle scout who has been outdoors a good portion of my life. I went into the army in 2015 and discharged, so that ruined the fun of going outdoors, along with being practical-minded about it as well.
I've read books about backpacking left and right, but my problem is I always find myself carrying way too much (almost everything) or way too little. I don't know how to get a fresh start on this, so I'm open to suggestions on how to move away from the mentality of a "move in formation" style of hiking, and trying to not make a mission out of every trip.
