Either don’t fight small frequent fires or manage the forest. Don’t fight fires and also not manage the forest. And honestly, you should manage the forest AND not fight the fires until you’ve got only healthy forest, and then you can taper off the forest management, if you’d like. Unmanaged forests that have been protected from fire for decades will burn far worse than they should, doing permanent damage to the forest cycle.

But forestry is great. All the durable goods you make with wood are reserved carbon for decades to centuries.

The arsonist himself is guilty of this. His entire interview is a reflection of himself. Regardless of how you feel about Trump (I admittedly support him) and Jan 6, the arsonist committed acts of violence without regard to the safety of society, and likely intended to trap first responders in the blaze. The very same thing he was shrieking about.

Regardless of how you feel about global warming and it's cult status, it's completely false to say he's a "professor of global warming" and insinuate he started the fires to support some agenda. Until I see something that quotes him stating he burned down the forests for that reason then he's just some leftist schizo in my eyes.

Climate change makes it worse- drier fuels, longer/hotter fire seasons, hotter fires...but also the increase in wild/urban interface in the last 20yrs has been dramatic resulting in a lot more people with property to lose in the case of fires.

Keep in mind a significant portion of the CA fires happen in areas where there are no forests to "manage"....fires in coastal scrub and oak woodland fires that are not the same as conifer forests that people think of when they of forest fires or forests to be "managed".
