Around 20. Next up will probably be the Southeastern states this spring. Won't go out of my way for shit like Ohio and Indiana unless I have a better reason to be out that way. And since those states are garbage, that won't be for a long time.

I like how you didn't even bother to defend Indiana lol. Easily one of the crappiest states in the union.
Years ago I went on a road trip to western Ohio where their state highpoint is located. We went camping, boating on some lakes, and toured Ohio Caverns. I made the suggestion of going to the Ohio and Indiana highpoints and everybody agreed that would be a lame way to spend our time. It was only 20 minutes or so from where we camped and still wasn't worth it to anybody. I haven't come up with a good reason to drive back out that way since.

This is the easiest way to spot people from the lower 48. It was referred to as Denali here by most people even when the name was officially McKinley. It was mostly people who had never even seen the mountain that called it McKinley.

So why didn't you take one of the alternative routes? I don't see how you could be "disappointed" that it was a Class 1 walk-up when practically every online source (14ers.com, Highpointers Club, LOJ, etc.) describe the standard route as being a Class 1 walk-up. It's not like Elbert is some obscure mountain with limited or no beta online.
If you haven't done Whitney in California yet, I would strongly suggest taking the Mountaineer's Route instead of the standard route which is an even longer and more gradual Class 1 hike than Elbert.

It wasn't even an native Ohioan who started calling it McKinley either and congress went with it despite none of them ever stepping foot in or laying eyes on Alaska either. McKinley never stuck in Alaska from the beginning and federal congress lagged 4 decades from the Alaskan congress' request to change it because essentially no one was calling it "Mt McKinley" locally and the only people calling it that and defending it had never been to Alaska.
