I actually won the lottery to get a permit to hike the JMT, however my entry point will have to be Sunrise Lakes. Which if I understand correctly means I will not see Yosemite valley and Half Dome. To /out/anons who have done it, is it a big deal? Am I allowed to walk the trail the other direction to see that part and then get on the normal way? My permit is southbound.
I'm Yuro so I'm not too familar with how National Parks work in the US.
