These are pictures taken from the North East of Kinder. If anyone else lurked a thread a month ago I said i would take photos but i never made it up there... my friend and his farther did make it later that week.

Looking down into Lady Cough, basicly were they just walked from in the fist pic.

I hitchhiked through last April and wished I'd had more time to spend. Though I can't say I saw any nature which impressed me as much as the town of buxton did.

Although that same trip I ended up hiking and camping in Staffordshire for a while, and really liked it. Lots of lovely woodlands and some seriously nice maintained trails. I spent 4 days near Froghall eating nettle soup and pulling up Himalayan balsam in the rain.

No. They are not nice. Not in my opinion. Just leave it as it should be, without all the sandstone paths and fucking handrails.

Their reasoning:
"By maintaining and repairing trails, less damage is done to the surrounding countryside, allowing more people to enjoy it for longer."

I'm inclined to agree.

Or can you care to explain why making 6 foot wide path out of unnatural stone for the area and chemicals they put in it, with the increase in people and pollution from more cars, and litter, that has increased because people who do not cherish the countryside now have access, is better than a muddy half a foot wide path that most people would not even see when stood a few feet away from it.

I can not find the best example of before and after, but these are the same area, this is the bridge at the bottom of the path Before:
brown, muddy path hardly noticeable unless your stood the other side of the valley or on it.

Big bright yellow sandstone path you can see from fucking space. If i wanted to walk on a path i would have gone to sherwood pines (forestry commission/mountain biking centre) or walked into town.

Dunno what the complaint is, to be honest. There's a lot of the UK you can walk across that doesn't have trails.

Thanks for the info tho. I found it.

My complaint is the human mark that we have to put on everything, yeah there is a dirty muddy, slippery path thats not all that safe in places. But people get over/around it. There is no need to put in 4 mile 6 foot wide bright yellow path that's just boring and ruins the surroundings.
