I wanted to post a picture from my urban hometown but my IP range is blocked so I can't upload. I'll try to describe the picture best I can.
Going with an horizontal composition.
It's taken inside a steel building. It's a metro station, but it's not underground. It must be some 10 or 15 meters above ground in what is called an aerial metro station.
The building is made of glass and steel. The picture is taken aiming at the rails on the outter side. The side from which the metro comes to pick passengers up. The composition makes an arch or a window, opening onto the railtrack outside. The far left and right side of the picture is gray walls of steel and glass. Late art deco, early industrial design. The railtrack is making an arc, turning right, where you can see our old metro approaching. The metro is pale green and white. It's dirty.
I shot this picture at Aerial Station Glacière on metro ligne 6 of Paris. I often take it but this day the sky was pale and gray, and this day although it was gray and dull, the view felt beautiful. There were pigeons onto the tracks. Grey too.
Love from France.
