Sup sc/out/s

Any advice or recommendations for a first timer at Yosemite?

I know its the winter season there and Highway 120 will be closed, but we will be coming from the west. No camping cause gf likes her luxuries and will be staying in Bass Lake area, driving into the park during the day, going on day hikes and driving out at night.

Other than the obvious of bring snow chains and seeing tunnel view, what should I know?
