>>2313156Folks are going to rag on you and call it larp, but planning a year in advance is honestly making me believe you have a shot. I did nov/dec outside of Oroville Wa with similar gear. It was not fun.
The people who aren’t miserable are fairly established, ie large canvas tents, a stove, and a big pile of seasoned wood to feed it. I’m not saying you couldn’t do otherwise, but that’s typical of what works. Being able to stand up and not be in the elements is huge. Having a place that not heated by your body temp will greatly decrease your need for calories. I ate close to 4000 calories a day and still lost weight, that being said I was also working. Anyway here’s what I would add:
>First and foremost start working on developing your brown fat. Keep your house below 66, take ice baths this spring summer and fall.It took about 10 days for me to feel like I could tough out the cold and get decent sleep, I’m sure you can shave some of that off with prep.
>get some down bootiesIf my feet are warm, I’m warm. or so my body thinks
>wrap your hot water bottle in something when you take it to bedI got hours more warmth when I wrapped a fleece jacket around mine.
>womens furry fleece leggingsI don’t know what it’s called, but it’s this long soft fleece. I’ve never seen it in mens, but a pair is like 11 bucks at Walmart. I had a pair of icebreaker longjohns, then snow bibs. A chick gave me a pair of those fleece leggings to put between them and I swear it was like magic, the Bahamas from the waist down.
Good luck don’t die
