>>2314997I have an Alumacraft 1032 welded. built like a fucking tank and noticeably stiffer/heavier than riveted boats. yes, it has a made in china plaque... but it's built like a tank. the whole point in a flat bottom jon in my opinion is to keep it simple and have the ability to run it ashore(assuming no big rocks). some people outfit a jon boat to be retardedly heavy and compley, might as well have got something else at that point. a short 10 or 12ft jon is easy to transport, even without a trailer in a truck bed. if you don't care about speed, slap a Honda BF2.3 outboard on it for lightweight and simplicity sake, and then a $110 minn kota 30" shaft 30lb on the front. one man can drag that on level ground, but once you start adding decks and custom shit, it can get heavy, even a 10ft.
