Yeah, but the people doing it had been trained by other hunters since children. They also had experience with their weapons, used traps hunted in groups and knew strategies by heart. And even like that many times they died anyway.

Boars kill/disembowel people with firearms, let alone without. You can do it, the risk is definitely not worth it. Imagine a 300-400kg fucker that can reach full speed in 3 steps and has a couple of 5 inch long razor sharp teeth sticking out its mouth.
