Day hikes are easy and require shoes and a water bottle. But sometimes a night spent in quiet reflection by a camp fire followed by hot coffee on a cool morning can clear the mind.

My advice is look into car camping with an inexpensive 2p tent, a confortable inflatable sleeping pad, a small billy pot, and a cheap natural gas stove in case of burn bans. You can probably already provide your own blankets and flashlight.

Best thing you can do is go to the hiking store and try on hiling boots and shoes.

No cutting around, it will take time to test and ask the shoe person.

Then it’s good if budget is not an issue.

While there get yourself quality socks.
