>>2326473The hikes that are on alltrails have been approved by alltrails staff. You can view user-made trails which will show a LOT more, many of them will be shit (because people go for a walk around their house and then save it as a trail, which you see), but there are plenty of more serious hikers who create their own routes and save them which you can look at.
Also, alltrails has a great trail creating feature. I think it only works on the website not the app. Basically you just click on two points on the map and it draws a track for you, if you want to go past something in particular or avoid roads you just put a few more points in there. The alltrails map has a lot, like potentially every trail in the developed world, so you don't really have to worry about missing out on any tracks because the app doesn't know they're there.
The way to use alltrails is use the website to create a trail, save it, then get it on your phone. And check out other user-made trails because that's where many more serious hikes can be found.
