i usually tried to buy a tent that was around 3 pounds because a 2 or 3 pounds is a lot. i used to backpack a lot when i was a kid, and when i finally bought some decent light weight equipment, and striped down what i brought, it totally changed my experience for the better.
it probably wouldnt matter if youre just doing a quick hike in and camping was the goal. or if your just starting out, not sure if youll like it.
also 2 lbs of lightweight fabric takes up a lot of room in your pack
