ITT pls share all your knowledge about dealing with bugs.
I'm making this thread because I'm starting my second season treeplanting in northern ontario and last year the bugs were by far the worst part of the experience and this year I want to do everything I can to make it managable. (the bugs are really really bad in northern ontario, it's all muskeg and swamp).
Here's what I know, let me know how true this stuff is.
>don't wear black or blue coloured clothing, wear white instead
>don't use any kind of scented shampoo, soap, deoderant etc.
>just water wash your laundry, again, no scents
>certain people seem to just attract 10 times as many bugs, i suspect it has to do with blood type, im O- and seemed to attract a ton
>wear longsleeves even if it's hot
>bug net hats are sometimes worth it, but it's hard with treeplanting because they get caught on everything

That's about all i know, if yo have any hacks pls share them. As an aside, I highly recomend treeplanting in Canada as a job for anyone who loves the outdoors and parties.
