>>233851Around grizzlies is different, but I'd honestly feel safer with good bear spray. A big grizzly can take a few shots before it's down, and if you only make one or two of those and they're not very well placed you have an enraged grizzly bear fighting for it's survival.
I'm not against guns at all, I own a rifle and a shotgun. If I go /out/ for a long time I'll bring the shotgun for small game. But I can't help but think that these people bringing guns on their day hikes in West Virginia are immature and pretending that they're in hostile territory.
