>>2342511Unless you’re completely out of water and can’t make it another 30 minutes, then this isn’t a problem. The “omg 4hrs because muh crypto!” is overhyped. The biggest threat (and basically the only threat) has always been bacteria (and viruses to a lesser extent). Cryptosporidium is so insanely rare that it’s not worth mentioning.
Basically you have chemicals that you mixed at the last water source ready to go. You finish off or dump out the water you have, fill your 1L bottle, and add the chemicals. Then you mix a new batch of Aquamira so it’s ready for the next water source. I use my existing clean water to top off the 500ml on my shoulder, and I hike with two 1L bottles. One will be curing (I guess?) while the other is already clean.
In the time it takes me to fill my water bag for a squeeze filter, the process is nearly done. It’s not so much the fact that it’s a time saver (how much time am I saving really, and what’s the rush?). It’s that it’s more reliable, and I’m not forced to stop and take a break.
>>2342517Literally tasteless. You wouldn’t know because you’re just going by what you think you read somewhere once, maybe. Try it out; it’s cheap.
