It looks like I'll be moving to SW Virginia. Can any anons comment on the /out/ potential of the region? I've heard there can be hordes of people from the coast and DC who ruin it, but as long as I can find some pretty ridges and maybe a good lake for paddling I'll be happy.

Also how fucked are the ticks and skeeters?
